The countdown to the exclusive Sky debut and streaming-only release of Nord Sud Ovest Est – The Legendary Story of 883 is nearing its close, marking the final act of a narrative that began in 2024 with They Killed the Spider-Man. It has captivated a huge audience with the incredible chronicle of the origins and early successes of the Italian band formed in Pavia, initially composed of Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto. That is precisely what happened to Sydney Sibilia, Elia Nuzzolo, and Matteo Oscar Giuggioli, the creator and stars of the Sky Original series, who while making it found themselves living — with They Killed the Spider-Man first and Nord Sud Ovest Est afterward — experiences not so far removed from those of Max and Mauro: the quest for the leads, the anxiety of auditions, the fear of not making it, the birth of a friendship capable of stepping off the set and into their lives. In Route to Nord Sud Ovest Est, director Sydney Sibilia and actors Elia Nuzzolo (the performer of Max Pezzali) and Matteo Oscar Giuggioli (Mauro Repetto) trace the birth of the Sky Studios and Groenlandia-produced series about the 883 through unseen footage, behind-the-scenes clips, anecdotes and memories, from the first self-tapes to the final sung audition, from singing lessons to long days on set.
The special precedes the release of the last eight episodes. With a new album on the horizon that would change everything, amid new loves, legendary concerts, the mythical Blue Jolly and America, Nord Sud Ovest Est tells the end, in 1993, of the 883’s story as a band, but also the beginning of the legend, a new tale capable of making entire generations of fans sing and feel again today.
