Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, simply known as Zendaya, is one of the most loved and recognizable artists of her generation who quickly climbed to the top of Hollywood. Although today her name is closely associated with cinema, dividing her time between the Spider-Man franchise and works such as Odyssey and The Drama, she took her first steps precisely in TV, where she later returned recently with Euphoria; and yet some of the characters she has portrayed over the years may have slipped from most people’s memory. Rocky Blue in Shake It Up
It’s no secret that Zendaya scored her first big success at Disney. Becoming one of its rising stars, she was chosen to star in A tutto ritmo where she played Rocky Blue from 2010 to 2013 alongside Bella Thorne. Together with CeCe, Rocky led the storyline about two young friends who dream of one day becoming professional dancers. Titled in the original language Shake It Up, the Disney Channel series launched Zendaya’s career, and from that moment onward she has remained unstoppable.
Resheida in Black-ish
During the second season, precisely in the fifth episode, Zendaya made a cameo in Black-ish, Kenya Barris’s sitcom aired from 2014 to 2022 featuring an African American family addressing various issues in a humorous light. In this case Zendaya portrays Resheida, Zoey’s friend.
Fola in The OA
Streaming on Netflix and lasting two seasons, The OA is a science fiction work created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij that at one point briefly involved Zendaya as well. The actress appeared in a few episodes of the second season portraying Fola, an experienced gamer who participates in an augmented reality game created by the CURI, helping detective Karim Washington decipher the video game and the secrets of the Nob Hill house.
