Growing up and becoming an adult is never easy, but for the protagonists of Not Suitable for Work things couldn’t have gone worse: Hulu has canceled the comedy created by Mindy Kaling after just one season (in Italy available on Disney+). While the streaming service is not interested in producing additional episodes, Warner Bros. Television plans to pitch the series to other television networks, hoping to find a new distribution platform.
About Not Suitable for Work
Not Suitable for Work chronicles the lives of five ambitious twenty-somethings who reside in Manhattan, in the Murray Hill neighborhood, as they strive to build a career without completely sacrificing their private lives. AJ, Abby, Kel, Davis and Josh – portrayed by Ella Hunt, Avantika Vandanapu, Nicholas Duvernay, Will Angus and Jack Martin – are very different from one another, live in the same building, and gradually become a kind of extended family.
The series alternated between workplace situations, professional ambitions, dating, friendships and romantic issues, exploring the transition from college to adult life. The five protagonists want to succeed, but discover that career, money, love and happiness are not necessarily compatible.
