Outlander: Blood of My Blood 2 Official Trailer Reveals Henry and Julia’s Fate

The world of Outlander has not yet finished telling its stories. While the original series has come to its conclusion, its universe continues to come alive with Outlander: Blood of My Blood, the prequel dedicated to the generations that preceded Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp. The official trailer for the second season, released by Starz in the United States, promises an even more intense chapter. At the heart of the narrative return the two main couples: Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, destined to become Jamie’s parents, and Julia and Henry Beauchamp, the parents of Claire. The US premiere is scheduled for September 18, while in Italy one must wait until 2027, when the new episodes will arrive on Sky and streaming on NOW.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood, the Plot of Season 2

Also in the second season, one of the most intriguing elements of Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be Craigh na Dun, the place through which time travel is possible. The ending of the first season had left Henry and Julia (Jeremy Irvine and Hermione Corfield) finally reunited in front of the standing stones, with the intention of returning to their own time and to their daughter Claire. The trailer, however, confirms that their time-travel journey will still have dramatic consequences on their relationship: when their plan goes awry, the two will be separated again. Henry will find himself thus far from Julia and will have to face a deep personal crisis as he seeks a way to return to her. Julia, instead, will be forced to return to Castle Leathers and confront Lord Lovat (Tony Curran).

Parallel to this, the story of Brian and Ellen (Jamie Roy and Harriet Slater) will also enter a much more dangerous phase. The second season opens against the backdrop of the Jacobite uprising of 1715, destined to divide the Highlands and drag the clans into war. With the burning crosses alight, Brian and Murtagh (Rory Alexander) will have to return to Castle Leathers and fight alongside Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, while Ellen will return to Castle Leoch, where brothers Colum and Dougal (Séamus McLean Ross and Sam Retford) will find themselves at odds about how to respond to the call to arms.

If the first season had largely laid the groundwork for the two great love stories, the second instalment seems to intend to considerably broaden their scope. The uprising of 1715 will not merely serve as the historical backdrop; war, clan rivalries, and the various political loyalties will once again test both couples. The trailer promises battles, shifting alliances, and new separations, while Henry, Julia, Brian, and Ellen will have to try to find their way back to the people they love in a time of deep instability for the Highlands.
