As VisionQuest winds down (the final episode of the Marvel series is scheduled for November 11 on Disney+), it’s time for Paul Bettany to shelve the Vision costume and embark on a new television adventure. The British actor will join Emmy winner Steven Yeun (Beef) in Pagans, Netflix’s upcoming supernatural drama written by Say Nothing Joshua Zetumer, the creator of Say Nothing.
The Plot of Pagans and Paul Bettany’s Role
A blend of emotions, horror, and humor, Pagans is a series that brings to light our darkest thoughts about family. Yeun stars as Gus, a single father who is working hard to raise his two children on his own after the tragic passing of his wife. The man discovers that, while his son Nate (Logan Kim, The Walking Dead: Dead City) is a normal, affable and well-liked boy, his daughter Alice (Sabine Grace) is not at all. She is the black sheep of the family, keeps the world at a distance and mostly remains closed off. What begins as a tense father-daughter relationship soon evolves into something far more sinister.
According to Deadline, Bettany has been cast in the role of Mag, a charismatic stranger. The cast also includes Marin Ireland (Dope Thief) and Intae Kim (Succession), who portray Janelle, a single mother, and Casey, Gus’s younger brother.
