Acclaimed as true demigods by the audience at Cinema Moderno in Lucca, Walker Scobell, Leah Sava’ Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri arrived at Lucca Comics & Games 2026 to thunderous applause, sky‑high cheers (no joke) and unmistakable excitement. The three young leads of Percy Jackson and the Olympians met the fans together with executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, delivering a special panel packed with previews and behind‑the‑scenes tidbits. During the event, a few preview clips from the third season were also shown, arriving on Disney+ on November 20, 2026. The new chapter will bring to the screen for the first time The Titan’s Curse, the third novel in Rick Riordan’s best‑selling saga.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians 3: Plot and previews revealed directly by the stars
In the new episodes the stakes will be higher than ever: Percy must confront the sudden disappearance of Annabeth and the approach of the Great Prophecy of the Delphi Oracle, which states that a demigod child of one of the Big Three could decide the fate of Olympus, leading to either salvation or ruin. And, according to the producers, the long‑brewing war is finally ready to become reality.
Walker Scobell, Leah Sava’ Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri discuss the challenges awaiting their characters
A formidable and essential presence will be Talia Grace (Tamara Smart), a character set to alter the group’s balance. Scobell explained what the dynamic between the two demigods will look like, hinting at a highly volatile interaction. “Talia is a mirror of Percy in a way. When Percy experiences an emotion, they tend to amplify it together. If one is angry, that anger tends to spill over onto the other, without really knowing how to handle it,” the actor noted. He added that there will also be a bit of competition for the role beside Annabeth and Grover: “Before Percy, that space belonged to Talia. She expects Percy to step aside and give up his place, but Percy has no intention of doing so.” Talia will also play a crucial part in how Percy confronts the Great Prophecy. “Percy is terrified by the idea of having to choose, because he knows that, if faced with the chance to save his friends or Olympus, he would choose his friends.”
Leah Sava’ Jeffries previews a new Annabeth: “She will have to learn to protect herself”
One of the most intriguing reveals concerns Annabeth, who in this season will finally receive greater narrative space. In the novels, the character’s role is relatively limited, but the series has chosen to expand her story, showing what happens while Percy and the others search for her. Leah Sava’ Jeffries explained that audiences will discover a new side of Athena’s daughter: “Annabeth has always put others first. If before her priority was surviving to save someone else, this time it will be primarily about her own survival.”
Grover will meet the Artemis Hunters: “Finally someone who understands him”
Aryan Simhadri also previewed major news for Grover. The encounter with the Artemis Hunters, including Artemis and Zoe, will give the satyr a chance to deepen his mission and his relationship with nature. “Grover doesn’t always manage to speak about his personal quest with Annabeth and Percy, because I don’t think they fully grasp how important the natural world and Pan are to him. Meeting the Hunters will finally allow him to find people who share his concerns, someone who truly understands him.”
The three young leads also reflected on how they have shared this journey for four years. Scobell, Sava’ Jeffries and Simhadri spoke about how special it is to have grown up together on set, evolving into different versions of the same people. “We’ve absorbed something from one another, and it’s strange to think how different our lives would be if we hadn’t started this adventure so young,” Aryan shared. Producer Dan Shotz also emphasized their camaraderie: “One of the most beautiful things about this group is that they’ve remained great friends even off set. The bond formed when they were 12, 13 and 14 years old, and it’s still incredibly strong today. It’s something truly special.”
“It’s going to be a massive season”: producers promise new gods and Titans
Co‑creator and executive producer Jonathan E. Steinberg and executive producer Dan Shotz described the third season as the most ambitious yet. “The war story we’ve been building across the first two seasons will finally begin to unfold. We will meet our first true antagonist: the first Titan,” they stated, adding that audiences can expect “bigger monsters, Titans, and gods. And this season will feature all the gods.”
Steinberg and Shotz also stressed how crucial it was to broaden Annabeth’s arc: “We wanted to tell her point of view. Those who read The Titan’s Curse know that in the book her role is relatively limited. But with Leah Sava’ Jeffries, we had to find a way to truly tell her story.” The producers regard this approach as one of the major strengths of the television adaptation: “We can honor these amazing books, and at the same time be inspired by them to tell entirely new stories.”
The third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be streaming on Disney+ starting November 20.
