Pity, a New Comedy Series: Video Interview with Emanuela Fanelli at the Venice Film Festival

It’s hard to distill the wild and courageous comedy series created by and starring Emanuela Fanelli. Yet let’s give it a go with HBO MAX, which will air it in six episodes, starting October 2, exclusively. It is a mockumentary comedy composed of six episodes, set in a near future. An ironic “what if” that retraces the tumultuous career and life of Emanuela Fanelli. But it’s not only that—a carousel of characters, as well as television programs and films, spanning the history of cinema and television, both recent and not only.

What a pity is the new Max Original series by Emanuela Fanelli, directed by Valerio Vestoso, written by Emanuela Fanelli, Giulio Somazzi, Valerio Vestoso, produced by Mattia Guerra for Be Water Film, with the participation of HBO Max, in collaboration with Rai Cinema, with the support of Fondazione Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste. The protagonist is Emanuela Fanelli, alongside, among others, Alessandro Borghi, Sabrina Ferilli, Ferzan Özpetek, Valerio Mastandrea, Anna Bonaiuto, Geppi Cucciari, Massimo De Lorenzo, Francesca Archibugi, Paolo Virzì, Paolo Genovese, with Malcom Pagani and with Paola Cortellesi.

In the cast, as we told you, there are many small and large roles played by numerous figures from the world of show business, including Giovanni Benincasa, Gianni Canova, Piera Detassis, Giovanni Floris, Gigi Marzullo, Stefano Rapone, Tullio Solenghi, Daniele Tinti, Tommaso Zorzi, and more…

The series was presented in preview at the Venice Film Festival. We talked about it with the creator and star, Emanuela Fanelli, together with the director Valerio Vestoso, in this video interview.
