I Pokémon are coming to Disney+! An agreement reached between Disney and The Pokémon Company, the organization that manages and coordinates the Pokémon brand worldwide, will bring to the streaming service a range of content related to the famous imaginary creatures and the adventures of the Trainers, including a new animated series titled Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, scheduled for release in 2027.

Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu is a stop-motion series produced by Aardman Animations, the acclaimed studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. The show will focus on the two titular characters, Sirfetch’d and Pichu, as they travel through the Galar region while they strive to aid and protect the Pokémon living there.

Phil Rynda, head of Original Animation for The Pokémon Company, added: “These stories, rich in adventure and heroism, all told from the Pokémon’s point of view, become even more exciting thanks to the extraordinary craftsmanship of Aardman’s filmmakers. Audiences will be thrilled to meet Sirfetch’d and Pichu, as well as the wonderful cast of Pokémon featured in this series. Aardman has brought the region of Galar to life in a way that makes you feel as if you could breathe the air, touch the bark of the trees, and yearn to share adventures beside our heroes.”
The agreement also includes adding to Disney+’s lineup Pokémon the Series: The Beginning, the first season of the Pokémon anime, spanning over 80 episodes.
