Rai Cinema Launches YouTube Channel with Short Films and Production Footage

Rai Cinema is one of the most active production and distribution outfits (via 01 Distribution) in our cinematic landscape: during a presentation at the Venice Film Festival 2026, the official Rai Cinema YouTube channel was unveiled by CEO Paolo Del Brocco. Here is what this showcase envisions, not limited to in-depth explorations and publicity, but also focusing on discovering new talents and promoting the short film format.

The Rai Cinema YouTube Channel Officially Unveiled at Venice 2026, Under the Banner of the Short Film

On the occasion of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, in the promotion of initiatives related to YouTube and Google, the official Rai Cinema YouTube channel was announced, conceived in synergy between Google and Rai Com, to serve as a multi-purpose showcase, but with the central idea of engaging those who come to cinema through digital media. A clear focus will be on short films, already hosted on RaiPlay and Rai Cinema Channel, but here further promoted, from works presented at trade and sector festivals, to reach experiments created also within the academic sphere. New talents will have an additional opportunity to emerge, because this will go beyond the existing content offering, but through short verticals and longer-form insights, one will be able to go behind the scenes of the works, also via podcasts and formats devised with digital creators. The opening of the Rai Cinema YouTube channel ensures the relevance and timeliness of Rai Cinema, as confirmed by the words of CEO Paolo Del Brocco: “YouTube is today a primary place for discovering content and talents for millions of people. For Rai Cinema it will be a new space to promote short films and interact with an increasingly evolved and informed audience. In line with the most innovative international players, we will not use YouTube only for clips and promotional materials, but we will also offer complete contents. Our short films will be able to reach new audiences and leverage the platform’s amplification potential. Not a substitution, but an expansion of our offering to also leverage on YouTube the editorial value and credibility of a brand built on 25 years of passion, quality and great cinema.”.

Per quanto riguarda i cortometraggi, Rai Cinema ha portato alla Mostra Les Métamorphoses au féminin, E-I-E-I-O, Se mai le cose, Puca e Angelo Azzurro. Among the films presented at the Venice Festival still ongoing, Rai Cinema has presented, among others, Succederà questa notte by Nanni Moretti (in theatres from December 3), The Echo Chamber by Andrea Pallaoro (already in theatres) and L’estranea by Paolo Strippoli (in cinemas from October 8).
