The choice of Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher has also been approved by the very person who created that character years ago on paper. Even before the television adaptation and even before the film adaptation (yes, Tom Cruise himself offered his version), Reacher was introduced to readers through the pen of Lee Child, and it was precisely him, recently, who reiterated that they could not have chosen a better actor to represent Reacher, both physically and intellectually.

Beyond his imposing physical presence, Jack Reacher is also highly intelligent and, according to Lee Child, Alan Ritchson has worked extremely hard to ensure the character reflects all of his qualities on screen, examining every tiny detail and nuance.
In an interview with Collider, Child praised the actor’s dedication, recounting that to this day he continues to study the novels of the Jack Reacher saga in an almost obsessive manner, in search of details that can enrich his portrayal and make it as complete as possible: “Like many actors, he works hard. He works incredibly hard and he is a truly kind person. Alan moves in this way, reads the books obsessively, trying to extract fragments of information, atmospheres, feelings and everything else. And I think he does it incredibly well,” he revealed.
Even though the TV series has introduced some modifications to the original material, Alan Ritchson’s interpretation has sought to stay as faithful as possible and solidly anchored to the character born from Lee Child’s pen, a quality noted by the author as well as by audiences who strongly approved of his casting. Regarding this, Child admitted: “I thought Ritchson was the right person for this job. And, to be honest, he hit the mark by taking on the role. He did a great job and we benefited greatly from it.”
Reacher could continue to have a long life on streaming via Prime Video, considering that Lee Child has published numerous novels featuring the character to date. On Prime Video, in the meantime, alongside the main series, a first spin-off centered on Neagley has also been proposed.
