As audiences await further details about the third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians slated for November 2026 on Disney+, fans of Rick Riordan may welcome this fresh development. According to Nexus Point News, a new television adaptation of The Kane Chronicles is in development, meaning the tale of Sadie and Carter could soon unfold on screen.
Reportedly, the saga’s author is involved in the project alongside Angela Robinson for Disney+’s 20th Television. To date, the TV series has not been officially announced, so these are speculative rumors; accordingly, it remains unclear who will portray the lead duo. In the past, The Kane Chronicles had been considered for a Netflix film adaptation, but that plan was put aside and in 2024 the author confirmed he had regained the rights to adapt the work. It thus seems likely that Disney+ will soon host a new TV series drawn from Riordan’s novels.
The Kane Chronicles currently comprises a trilogy: The Red Pyramid, The Throne of Fire, and The Serpent’s Shadow. The protagonists are siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, who discover that the magic of Ancient Egypt remains alive in the modern world, as they are descendants of Egyptian pharaohs. Adding to the allure and completeness of the project is its direct connection to Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The stories are set within the same universe, and Riordan has written crossovers with Percy and Annabeth such as The Son of Sobek, The Staff of Serapis, and The Crown of Ptolemy, later compiled in Percy Jackson and the Olympians – The Secret Stories.
