The 37th edition of the Romics, which celebrates the 25 years of life of the cross-media event, kicks off on Thursday, October 1st, as usual at the Fiera di Roma, and will conclude on Sunday the 4th. Within the numerous meetings and events concerning comics, cinema, animation, music, and games, there are opportunities to meet true legends of these sectors, such as Pino Donaggio, a singer-songwriter and composer for the seventh art: Donaggio will be the star of a panel in which he will recall his career among the notes written for great directors.

Pino Donaggio at Romics 37, to talk about music, cinema and their intertwining
Many fans of the Festival di Sanremo and of Italian song will remember Pino Donaggio for his “Io che non vivo (senza te)” (1965), translated worldwide and even sung by Elvis Presley, but the singer-songwriter and composer, born in 1941, has tied his name to a number of famous film scores. Sixty years of a career will be the focus of an encounter with Donaggio, moderated by Luca Ruocco and in collaboration with Heroes International Film Festival, scheduled for Friday, October 2 from 12:30 to 13:00, at the Pavilion 8 of Romics at the Fiera di Roma, Grand Events and Screenings Hall.
The professional life of Pino Donaggio takes a different path from many of his peers in 1973, when he signs the soundtrack for A Venezia… un dicembre rosso shocking by Nicholas Roeg with Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland. The meeting with director Brian De Palma is the turning point: the unforgettable Carrie – Lo sguardo di Satana is from 1976. What followed, with De Palma and with other great names of international and Italian cinema, were the scores of Piraña, Vestito per uccidere, L’ululato, Blow Out, Non ci resta che piangere, Omicidio a Luci Rosse, Interno Berlinese, La setta, Doppia personalità, Trauma, L’arcano incantatore, Domino, up to his last Her Private Hell by Nicolas Winding Refn. All this without forgetting that the famous Don Matteo theme song is signed by him, and it was even loudly requested when there was talk of replacing it!
