Jessica Biel owes her early, prominent notoriety to Settimo Cielo, known in English as 7th Heaven, a TV series comprising eleven seasons that aired from 1996 to 2007, centered on the Camden family led by Reverend Eric and his wife Annie. Biel, in this case, contributed to the family by portraying Mary, the eldest daughter. Years later, the actress has starred in numerous successful films and TV series, but she is about to return to the Camden family at the helm of a reboot project that, according to her, will be more modern and different from the original.
The New Seventh Heaven: How the Series Will Change Between Technology, Family Issues, and Fewer Limitations
Jessica Biel has made clear from the outset that she will not reprise the role of Mary in the reboot of Settimo Cielo, but she is actively involved behind the scenes as a producer and has hinted at what audiences can expect from this new project: “When I’m on set as a producer, I always think about the safety net that is formed and the communication we hope to establish: smooth communication with the actors and the crew. The goal is to create a safe space where people can be truly creative and vulnerable, because much of what I’m doing now, the content I’m creating, centers on emotions. These are people who really put themselves emotionally on the line, and if there isn’t a protected space to express themselves, I think it’s difficult. It’s hard to deliver that kind of performance. So I believe what I’m constantly trying to do as a producer is create that space where everyone feels cared for and safe,” she told Collider.
