Of course, the show wasn’t going to miss the chance to keep the game going. Its team has already weighed in on social media and gone straight for the jugular: they dedicate the award to Donald Trump himself. They congratulate the president on finally winning the Emmy, noting that although he spent a large portion of his life in television, he never took one home for any of his programs. And to top it off, they do so illustrating him with his pants down and a big smile.
These tactics are well known to the White House, which had to comment at the start of last season on the show’s criticisms. It’s a practice Trump is accustomed to dealing with, with the occasional AI-generated provocation. But no matter how much he rails against Comedy Central, this is a topic Parker and Stone aren’t going to let go. If they get the chance to lampoon him, they will—a formula that has proven effective on television despite some criticisms of being repetitive on the subject. It may be more or less tasteful, but they’re doing something right if they’ve taken home an Emmy.

The Emmy is the perfect reminder that the 28th season of ‘South Park’ premieres this very month. Fans won’t have to wait long for the gang’s new episodes to land on television, with the premiere date projected for September 16, 2026. What topics will they tackle this year after ten episodes almost exclusively lampooning Trump? It’s only a matter of time before we see, though don’t be surprised when the president once again becomes a central topic of conversation.
