Sterling Point: Season Finale Explained — What Ramona Decides and Who Is Her Real Father

The first season of Sterling Point – The Island of Secrets—available on Prime Video from August 5 with all eight episodes—concludes with unexpected revelations, family secrets surfacing, and a truly surprising final twist that leaves the door open for a possible second chapter. But what happened in the season finale?

Sterling Point – The Island of Secrets, explanation of the season finale

Sterling Point – The Island of Secrets follows the lives of the twins Annie and Connor Jacobson, from New York, who discover they have inherited a Canadian island from their maternal grandfather: Sterling Point. But when they arrive on site, they make another shockingly discovery: another girl named Ramona is also designated as the heir to the property. Ramona, moreover, reveals to the two twins that she is the biological daughter of their late adoptive mother. The three, from then on, spend the summer together getting to know each other better and trying to uncover more about the family secrets. But then, what happened in the season finale?

In the final episode, all the family secrets come to light. Ramona learns that her biological father is not Joe as had been believed throughout the series (given his past relationship with Goldie and since Ramona’s grandfather had named him as her legal guardian at his death), but Steven. The two twins discover that their late adoptive mother did not die of cancer but—because she suffered from a heart condition—during the cesarean birth that brought Ramona into the world. Before dying, the woman had planned to leave Steven and raise all of her children at Sterling Point.

Turning to the central dilemma, the sale of the island: in the season finale, Annie and Ramona decide not to sell the property, at least for the moment. Annie asks Ramona to wait a year before selling the island. The two girls thus swap places: Annie stays at Sterling Point, where she can finally start over far from the city, and Ramona moves to New York, where she will begin to know her biological father, Steven, better. Connor, meanwhile, in the final moments, receives an unexpected phone call from an adoption agency (the boy had previously started researching his biological parents without telling Annie). This twist leaves the ending, so to speak, open for a potential second season.
