The spooky season is fast approaching, and streaming platforms are matching the public’s demand for stories steeped in mystery. As always, new releases on NOW, Prime Video, Netflix, Paramount+, Disney+, HBO Max and Apple TV are designed for every taste: from the return of American Horror Story with its terrifying thirteenth season to the debut of East of Eden starring Florence Pugh. TV Series on Netflix
Lego One Piece
One Piece continues to rise in popularity on Netflix. In addition to a widely acclaimed anime series on the small screen, the platform has not only offered a live-action adaptation with a third season that will soon return, but has also produced a new animated series titled Lego One Piece. Available from September 29, 2026 on Netflix, the series is a collaboration between Lego, One Piece and Netflix and is based on the renowned manga by Eiichiro Oda, but focuses on the adventures led by Monkey D. Luffy during the first two seasons of the live-action One Piece, narrated by Usopp.
East of Eden
Miniseries starring Florence Pugh, East of Eden is adapted from the John Steinbeck novel of the same name. Created by Zoe Kazan, the story traces decades in the life of Cathy and the Trask family, from the American Civil War to World War I, presenting itself as both a family portrait and a portrait of a society in rapid evolution. The cast also includes Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist. Comprising seven episodes, the miniseries is available for streaming from October 1, 2026.
New TV Series on Prime Video
Red Queen 2
After its debut in 2024, Red Queen (in original Reina roja) returns to Prime Video with a second season starting October 2, 2026. This Spanish-Mexican police procedural series directed by Koldo Serra is based on the novel of the same name by Juan Gómez-Jurado and follows a pair of investigators working for a secret EU-funded agency, Antonia and Jon, who probe the murder of a wealthy family heir and the kidnapping of Carla Ortiz. In the course of the second season, the brilliant duo must solve a crime tied to the Russian mafia along the Costa del Sol, investigating the disappearance of Lola Moreno.
Ingorgo
Six-episode Italian comedy series, Ingorgo is a new title available for streaming on Prime Video from October 2, 2026. Based on the format of the Spanish series Atasco with a screenplay by Daniela Delle Foglie, the show brings together a host of notable stars such as Ninni Bruschetta, Selene Caramazza, Antonio Catania, Mario Ermito, Donatella Finocchiaro, Stefano Fresi, Matilde Gioli, Corrado Guzzanti, Alessandra Mastronardi, Lucia Ocone, Francesco Pannofino, Ilenia Pastorelli, Valentina Romani and Gian Marco Tognazzi. The plot centers on a massive traffic jam that, as evening falls, ensnares numerous drivers: that line of cars becomes an opportunity for new encounters and twists, triggering surreal situations, unexpected revelations and hilarious dynamics.

Sheriff Country – Part 2
NOW offers the second part of the first season of Sheriff Country, a police drama born as a spin-off of Fire Country, featuring the Edgewater County Sheriff Mickey Fox played by Morena Baccarin. After releasing the first portion of the first season, it returns with the second block of episodes that will conclude the first season’s airing, starting September 29, 2026.

The Grimm Sisters 2
The Grimm Sisters, an animated series streaming on Apple TV, returns with a second season starting October 2, 2026. Comprising six episodes, the story follows young Sabrina and Daphne Grimm. A year after their parents’ disappearance, the sisters continue their investigations in Ferryport Landing, a land where fairy tales and fantastic creatures truly exist, and where both must summon courage to face heroes and villains.
New TV Series on Disney+
Adults 2
Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, Adults is returning as a comedy-drama on Disney+ from September 30, 2026 with a second season consisting of eight episodes and preceded by a special episode. The story follows five twenty-somethings living in New York, close friends and roommates who must navigate the challenge of being adults in a chaotic city, balancing career ambitions with nightlife and misadventures.
Coven Academy – The Witch Academy
In anticipation of the spooky season, Coven Academy – The Witch Academy arrives as a new teen fantasy series streaming on Disney+ from October 2, 2026. The protagonist is Briar Roberts, a New York teenager who joins the mysterious School of Magic in New Orleans to uncover the truth about her mother. Meanwhile, she becomes entangled in a war between witches and vampires and, together with her coven of aspiring witches, must ward off a looming dark threat that affects them all. Along the way, Briar will also discover love. The cast includes Malina Weissman, Saylor McPherson, Lucia Morris, Everett Andres, Tiffany Thiessen, Louis Thresher and Malachi Barton.
American Horror Story 13
The beloved horror anthology series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk returns to streaming: American Horror Story arrives in time for the spooky season with a thirteenth season that brings back fan-favorite faces. The cast includes Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Frances Conroy, Leslie Grossman and Jamie Brewer. Beginning October 1, 2026, Disney+ has scheduled a weekly release with multiple episodes (for example, on October 1 the first three episodes of the season were available).

Tyler Perry’s Ruthless
From September 29, 2026, Tyler Perry’s Ruthless is available from season 1 through 6, a series created, directed, written and produced by Tyler Perry that tells the story of Ruth Truesdale, a young mother trapped in a fanatic sect, Rakudushi, led by a charismatic and ruthless leader. To survive and save her daughter, Ruth must pretend and move carefully in a world ruled by manipulation.
Sacrifice
Starting September 30, 2026, on Paramount+ the first season of Sacrifice is available, along with early episodes of the second season, followed by a weekly release of subsequent installments. The series centers on Paula Patton as Daniella Hernandez, a feared Los Angeles attorney enlisted by celebrities, entrepreneurs and influential figures to resolve scandals, crimes and to bury secrets. Between confidential deals, blackmail and dangerous relationships, Daniella often finds herself clashing with the district attorney Beverly Rucker, with whom she has a complicated history.
