Jason Statham never seems to tire, and apparently he never tires of shooting film after film, all based on the same basic premise: there’s Jason who wants to live a quiet life, a few villains do something incredibly evil, and Jason is forced to return as the ultimate lethal weapon once again. This time the pattern is even set within a bona fide sequel: because, of course, The Beekeeper 2 is the film in which Statham returns to the role of Adam Clay, a man who would simply like to be a beekeeper, but who… well, you know, a role he already played in the first The Beekeeper.
According to what we see in the teaser trailer that you’ll find further down, this time Statham (with a beard longer than usual and behind the wheel of a 1969 Dodge Super Bee) is called—none other than by Jeremy Irons—to single-handedly fight the entire organization of the “beekeepers” of which he was a part. The outcomes, well: are easily imaginable.
The Beekeeper 2 will arrive in 2027, and behind the camera is involved Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto, one of the big names in contemporary action cinema.
