In recent years, the series The Chosen has told the story of Jesus with an unprecedented level of detail. The audience, large across the world, has been able to delve into the life of the Messiah and his disciples, discovering more closely their emotions, their doubts, their difficulties and their journey of faith. However, even long and detailed narratives come to an end, though choosing such a verb is not the most appropriate when it comes to the Lord. The sixth season, premiering on November 15 on streaming via Prime Video, will focus on the most dramatic and painful moments in history: Judas’s betrayal, Jesus’s arrest, the trial and the condemnation to crucifixion, as the official trailer previews.
The Chosen 6: The Last Day of Jesus’ Life
In the sixth season, The Chosen retraces the historical events of Jesus’ last day (portrayed by Jonathan Roumie) through the lives of those who love him and those who condemn him. The Pharisees call it justice. The Romans call it peace. His followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus remains steadfast in his purpose, which has always led to a single destiny: the cross. These episodes, according to the official synopsis, tell “how Jesus’ final hours changed the world forever”.
The programming will proceed with a new episode each Sunday, until December 6. The story of Jesus’ last day of life will conclude with an independent film that will be shown in theaters on March 12, 2027. In the meantime, a seventh season focused on the Resurrection is already in production and is expected to be the last of the series.
