The premises are irreverent, the progression is disorienting, and the entertainment is pursued with the blueprint of a romantic comedy from The Doll, directed by Sophie Beaulieu and set to hit cinemas through No.Mad Entertainment starting October 15. Premiered in Italy at the Capalbio Film Festival, the film transforms a surreal starting point into a narrative of great humanity. It does so by drawing from a pair of leads who are consistently appreciated by audiences and full of empathy, such as Vincent Macaigne and Cécile de France.
The film’s story centers on Rémi (Vincent Macaigne), who simply cannot get over his latest heartbreak. A relationship that left him with a deep sense of disappointment and bitterness. Since then, he has decided to live with Audrey, an inflatable sex doll, with whom he has rebuilt his daily serenity. Everything seems easier, in short. Until Patricia (Cécile de France) is hired at the company where he works, and especially when Audrey mysteriously comes to life…
