The Exorcist: First Trailer Drops Friday, According to Mike Flanagan

Following David Gordon Green, who in 2023 directed The Exorcist: Believer, and who then saw a second film that he had already envisioned and had in his hands canceled, it is Mike Flanagan the director who has chosen to undertake the challenging task of adding a meaningful chapter to the film series born from one of the most beautiful and influential horror works of all time, the original The Exorcist directed by William Friedkin in 1973.
From his film we know little, but today we know a bit more: first of all, we know it will be titled The Exorcist: Martyrs, and that its first trailer will officially debut on the afternoon of Friday, October 9. The film will then arrive in American theaters on March 12, 2027.
We also have some initial hints about the plot, which, as was the case with the third film in the series, the one directed by William Peter Blatty, blends demonic possession with another fright: that of serial killers. The Flanagan film, in fact, stars Johansson in the role of Julie Miller, a detective in the New York Police Department’s Homicide division and mother of a 12-year-old child, who investigates the murders of a serial killer and who, somehow, ends up confronting the Devil.
As we await the first trailer and to learn more, this is a teaser for The Exorcist: Martyrs.
