A Christmas Eve like many others for Antonio and the family he has built after moving to Milan many years ago. But it is that day of the year when the mother, Angela, takes possession of the stove and of the decisions of the extended family ready to unwrap the gifts and celebrate. A burdensome presence, a battleground of emotions, between merriment, raised voices and misunderstandings of the past.
The Fire You Carry Inside is the new film by Edoardo De Angelis, written by him together with Francesco Piccolo and Ilaria Macchia, based on the eponymous novel by Antonio Franchini, published by Marsilio Editori, presented today in competition at the Venice Film Festival. A production by Picomedia, the company of the Asacha group and part of Fremantle, with Rai Cinema.
We spoke with the director, Edoardo De Angelis, together with the leads, mother and son in the film, Vanessa Scalera and Lino Musella. Also in the cast are Elena Radonicich, Ivana Lotito, Nicole Malaj, Samuele Mazza, Tony Laudadio with Tommaso Ragno
