The Gilded Age Season 4: Release Date, What to Expect, and Teaser Trailer

The most elegant and sumptuous series on television is about to return. A teaser trailer announces that the fourth season of The Gilded Age, the latest creation of the mind behind Downton Abbey Julian Fellowes, will debut on Sky and will stream on NOW and HBO Max on November 2, 2026, where a new episode will air each Monday for eight weeks.

The Gilded Age 4: How the Story Continues and the New Characters

The Gilded Age returns with even more lavish settings, spectacular costumes, and real historical references. Bertha Russell (portrayed by Carrie Coon) has reshaped society, but at a very high price—a deep strain in her marriage to George (Morgan Spector). Now the Russell family must reckon with the consequences of Bertha’s choices, while Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) seizes the opportunity to reclaim the lost prestige within her own home. Meanwhile, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) sets out on a new path and Peggy (Denée Benton) works to win acceptance from her future husband’s family. “In this new era, one must be careful what one wishes for,” warns the official synopsis.

There are many new additions to the cast. Taylor Trensch (Evil) plays Oliver, a newcomer in the van Rhijn household. James Scully (You) is Lee Klein, an artist—an apprentice to the famed painter William Merritt Chase—who sells his first painting during a memorable society event. Dennis Haysbert (24) portrays Dr. Reginald Harris, William’s mentor, who travels to New York to raise funds for the Freedman’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., ultimately forming a surprising bond. Maggie Kuntz is Fiona Summers, the cousin of the renowned Astors. Neal Huff (Omicidio a Easttown) portrays the famous businessman and oil magnate John D. Rockefeller. The Tony Award winner Bonnie Milligan (Search Party) has, meanwhile, been cast as Mrs. Knapp Curtis, the pioneering editor of the popular magazine The Ladies’ Home Journal.

Roles have also been entrusted to Jim Gaffigan (Tagliando d’amore), Dallas Roberts (Tulsa King), Elizabeth Marvel (Presunto innocente) and Andrew Burnap (Biancaneve). They portray respectively Grover Cleveland, the 22nd President of the United States, who arrives in New York to ingratiate himself with the elite; Daniel Manning, a seasoned politician and the Secretary of the Treasury under the Cleveland administration; Virginia Saville, a kindly nurse working at the Neighborhood Settlement House in the Lower East Side; and Porter, a young high-society gentleman who has studied at a prestigious university and possesses funds to invest in new, exciting ventures.
