It doesn’t happen often to see an Italian production among Netflix’s most-watched TV series global. It has just happened with Minerva – The School, which in its first week available on the streaming service—from September 21 to 27, 2026—generated 2.4 million views, ranking as the eighth most-watched title among foreign-language programs. The Top 10 was dominated by the Turkish drama So chi sei, which grew by 111% in a week with an additional 9.7 million views. Considering the widespread word-of-mouth on social media (even internationally) and everything else, the series starring Ciro Minopoli and Biagio Venditti, set in a Naples military high school, would also appear to have ample room for growth in the days ahead, and the numbers to reach Netflix’s past successes such as The Law of Lidia Poët and Deceit. This is also suggested by the fact that, according to FlixPatrol, a site that collects and aggregates data on the popularity of films and TV series on streaming platforms, Minerva – The School is currently the fourth-most-watched show on Netflix globally, as well as the top one in Italy, its most important market.
As for English-language titles, the top spot on the chart remains for the second consecutive week with Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. The fourth season of the anthology crime drama has racked up another 14.5 million views, nearly 20% more than during its debut week. The Lizzie Borden Story has also entered the ranking of Netflix’s 10 most-watched titles in 92 countries, climbing from 89 in the first week and reaching the top position in 36 of these. Those numbers seem to leave little doubt about a still-bright future for the Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan anthology series. In second place among the ongoing dramas remains the Canadian teen series Crew Girl, with 4.5 million views, down 60% in its third week. We also note the 4.2 million views generated by All at College, a revival of the cult sitcom from the 1980s and 1990s, placing it fourth on the chart.
