The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 – Official Trailer Teases the Forging of the One Ring

The moment Middle-earth fans have been waiting for is nearly here: the forging of the One Ring. Prime Video has revealed the official Italian trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, transporting us back to a world increasingly shadowed by Sauron, who is now close to putting his plan of domination into effect. “Everything has come to this,” declares Galadriel in the clip, hinting at a season that promises spectacular battles and difficult alliances that will alter the fate of Middle-earth.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power 3, the Official Trailer Foreshadows an Unprecedented War

The fantasy series, set thousands of years before the events chronicled in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, is therefore poised to enter one of the most pivotal phases of its saga. With the Dark Lord’s armies marching and the last strongholds of the Free Peoples under siege, the moment for resistance is drawing to a close. The new trailer depicts a Middle-earth on the brink of ruin, where Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Wizards are compelled to fight to prevent Sauron from conquering every realm. The Dark Lord, portrayed by Charlie Vickers, is more powerful than ever and concentrates every effort on forging the One Ring, the weapon with which he intends to bend all the other Rings of Power to his will. At his side move terrifying servants, the Nazgûl, clad in black armor and ready to sow terror. Judging by the trailer, no one in the new season seems truly safe. Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo) are once again at the forefront of the fight against the Dark Lord. Gandalf (Daniel Weyman) will also face an increasingly formidable threat, relying on his powers and his ability to persuade others to resist the advance of darkness.

The Plot of Season 3: Sauron Wants to Forge the One Ring

The new season leaps forward five years from the fall of Eregion, an event that profoundly reshaped Middle-earth’s balance. Meanwhile, Sauron’s armies have conquered vast swaths of the world, and only a handful of fortresses remain to oppose his advance. Among them are Khazad-dûm, the underground kingdom of the Dwarves, and the Elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell, protected by the power of the Three Rings. Yet resistance grows ever more fragile, and internal divisions threaten to derail any chance of victory. Deep within Mordor, Sauron labors tirelessly in his new tower, Barad-dûr. His obsession is to fashion a power capable of surpassing every obstacle and ensuring absolute control over all peoples of Middle-earth. The forging of the One Ring thus becomes the season’s centerpiece and the turning point of a war that concerns not only the conquest of lands but the very freedom of every living being. The other realms will also be heavily tested. In Khazad-dûm, the bonds among the Dwarves will be shaken by ever-deeper tensions. In Númenor, political strife threatens to pull the island kingdom into a civil war, while the Elves will desperately strive to defend their positions. In the eastern lands of Rhûn, Gandalf will be called upon to counter the darkness with all his magic and his ability to persuade others to resist the onslaught of the shadows. Faced with the threat, the Free Peoples must set aside rivalries and personal interests. The challenge is clear: unite their forces before Sauron can complete his plan.
