The official trailer for Il Rumore delle cose nuove, Paolo Genovese’s new film is now online and will premiere as the opening film at the 21st Rome Film Festival. The cast includes Emanuela Fanelli, Claudia Pandolfi, Vittoria Puccini, Stefano Accorsi, Lino Musella, and Edoardo Pesce, with Claudio Santamaria appearing in a supporting role.
Written by Paolo Genovese himself, together with Igor Artibani, the film centers on three different couples who are strangers to each other who share the cage they have built around their lives — out of fear of what might lie beyond — and a dense lattice that has relegated their feelings to a calm, reassuring perimeter. Until an unexpected event involves them all, forcing them to reorder hearts and souls, reexamine their existence, and cast aside anything that may be superfluous.
Il Rumore delle cose nuove, Paolo Genovese’s film is produced by Lotus Production, a Leone Film Group company, with Rai Cinema in association with Vice Pictures. The film will hit Italian cinemas on November 12, 2026, distributed by 01 Distribution.
