The Promise: Spanish Plotlines – Maria and Carlo Forced to Marry, Someone Threatens Their Janita

Maria and Carlo forced to wed. In the Spanish episodes of The Promise, the two youngsters were forced to become husband and wife despite their different plans and despite Fernandez having repeatedly confessed to the father of her child that she does not love him. And it is precisely for this reason that their first wedding ceremony could not take place, with the bride fleeing toward her true love. But then why do the two now pronounce the vows that bound them? Unfortunately Leocadia is involved and a threatening letter. Here is the whole truth.

The Promise Spanish plots: Maria and Carlo discover that Janita is in danger

Maria left Carlo at the altar and she and Father Samuel vowed to fight for their love, with the priest starting the proceedings to dissolve the vows. But unfortunately the romantic idyll, which we would all like to see (I’m a big fan of this couple), cannot come to fruition—at least not yet. Yes, because Fernandez and Carlo have discovered that Janita is in danger and that she could even be killed. The news was delivered to them by Leocadia, who has begun to harbour a strange affection (more of an obsession, I would say) for the little girl; the lady handed the child’s parents a threatening letter in which it says that the child will be murdered if they do not ensure she is watched over together. Leocadia has therefore urged Maria and the page to marry as soon as possible, and the two have agreed.

Maria ready to sacrifice for her daughter in the Spanish episodes of The Promise

Maria had to accept the marriage to Carlo, even though she told him she did not love him and she harbors strong feelings for Samuel. The young woman revealed all her concerns to Julieta, who immediately stepped in to let her know that she would be by her side and offered a shoulder to cry on. Fernandez drew on all her courage and confessed to Ciro’s wife that she is ready to do anything to keep her daughter safe, even marry someone she does not love. And so the wedding was organized and it was a terribly sad event. Julieta warned Maria, openly expressing fear that Leocadia is deceiving her and that she did all this to keep her and Carlo under control and to gain access to the child. With no certainties, Maria is not willing to take risks and thus decided to wear the white dress and marry Carlo.

A Very sad wedding in the Spanish episodes of the soap The Promise

Carlo and Maria pretended to have reconsidered the marriage, and that is why the household staff were happy to celebrate them. But at the heart of Maria and Samuel there was an evident turmoil, a pain that cannot be easily soothed. The priest is, of course, aware of why Maria chose to marry Carlo and he addressed his beloved with words of understanding, even during the homily. The newlyweds have become husband and wife, and Carlo seemed the only one somewhat pleased, since his feelings for the maid are sincere. The two young people have made clear that there will be nothing more than a fake arrangement, an act designed to protect Jana, and Carlo has promised Maria to defend her as well as their daughter. The pair acknowledged that the sole positive aspect of the whole affair, besides the fact that they can keep the little girl safe together, is that they do at least get along. But what lies behind this threatening letter? Are we really sure, as Julieta says, that Leocadia is the mastermind, or has the woman acted but not alone? In my opinion Carlo’s attitude stinks of deceit, and we may soon discover that he orchestrated everything—whether with or without the lady’s complicity—to thwart Maria and Samuel’s happiness.
