The Roses of Marrakech: Two Women, Two Worlds Meet – Video Interview with Ginevra Elkann

Silence and affection bind two women from distant worlds and experiences, yet they find themselves sharing a space outside time—a Moroccan estate where dreams and secrets reside, the past and the longing for a future together. Leila is the devoted housekeeper of Lady Isabelle, a Frenchwoman who has long been the custodian of a property where perfection and beauty stubbornly persist as current realities, while beyond the walls the desert taps at the gates and seeks to invade the lush, blooming garden entrusted to the faithful chief gardener Yusef.

The Roses of Marrakech, those magnificent flowers at the center of Ginevra Elkann‘s third feature, written by the director in collaboration with Babak Jalali and Chiara Barzini, and interpreted by Fanny Ardant, Nisrin Erradi and Ahmed Hammoud, the film is a production from Asmara Films in collaboration with Rai Cinema, produced by Fabrizio Mosca and Jean Bréhat. It will soon be released in Italian cinemas through Lucky Red, after being presented at the Rome Film Festival.

We spoke with director Ginevra Elkann in this video interview.
