It’s hard to escape your past. James Reece, the former Navy SEAL portrayed by Chris Pratt in The Terminal List, knows this all too well. The new official trailer for the second season teases a mission that is even more ambitious and perilous for him. Watch it below, as we await the eight new episodes arriving exclusively on Prime Video on October 21, 2026.
Terminal List: Where we left off and where the second season will pick up
In the first season, James Reece returned home after an ambush that decimated his Navy SEAL squad, uncovering a conspiracy tied to the mission. The pursuit of the truth morphed into personal vengeance, with Reece determined to eliminate those responsible. Season two picks up from the consequences of that choice, expanding his mission onto a broader international stage. This time, the stakes are higher: his quest will thrust him into an international web of terrorism, covert operations, and former allies who have become enemies.
The plot of the new episodes
The second season is based on True Believer, the second novel by Jack Carr centered on the character James Reece. The new trailer highlights the event that brings Reece back into the spotlight: a terrorist attack in London. To stop the threat, the former Navy SEAL must track down Mohammed “Mo” Farooq, portrayed by Dar Salim, an ex-ally who seems to have switched sides. Farooq is a former member of the Iraqi special forces, and his past is tied to CIA operations. The case thus takes on a personal dimension for Reece, who finds himself facing once again the consequences of the missions that have marked his life. In exchange for cooperation, Reece is promised a form of official redemption: a mission that could allow him to earn forgiveness for his actions and finally leave the past behind. But, as the trailer hints, nothing will be that simple.
Gabriel Luna and the returns in the cast
Among the major new additions to the second season is Gabriel Luna, previously seen in The Last of Us, who plays Freddy Strain. The character is a former Senior Chief of SEAL Team 6 and now works for the CIA’s Ground Branch. Strain is described as a man torn between two worlds: an elite field sniper and, at the same time, a family man deeply bonded to his loved ones. His conviction that James Reece is still alive will drive him to pursue Reece and pull him back into the world of covert operations. The relationship between the two will be one of the season’s central threads. Reece will push Strain to question the boundaries of the rules he has always followed, while his devotion to family and country will contribute to the protagonist’s path toward redemption.
Chris Pratt will once again be joined by Constance Wu as journalist Katie Buranek. Returning are also Tom Hopper in the role of Raife Hastings, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry, a character previously introduced in The Terminal List universe via the prequel series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. The cast is further expanded with several international actors, including Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, and Arnold Vosloo.
