Shortly before the show returns to streaming on Prime Video with an eagerly awaited second season, the showrunner of Terminal List has already offered fans an intriguing tease that would guarantee a long life for the TV series. Of course, everything will depend on how the upcoming episodes are received on streaming, from October 21, 2026, but David DiGilio revealed that the plot plotted so far would extend for a decade and would go beyond the second season.
Terminal List Beyond Season 2: The Showrunner Says He Has a Clear Plan for Ten Years of TV
Adapted from the Jack Carr novel saga, Terminal List is back with a cast led once again by Chris Pratt. The second season draws its strength from the novel True Believer, the second in the series, and follows James Reece on a new mission that will see him pit against an old ally. Speaking to Screen Rant, David DiGilio spoke about the decade-long plan for Terminal List that they had defined from the outset:
When we started with the first season of Terminal List, Chris Pratt made it clear: ‘Listen, we’re not just making a TV series. We will actually build an entire universe from these fantastic books and the characters that Jack gave us.’ And we created what we called a ten-year plan. In this, there was the idea of keeping the character of James Reese as the backbone of this universe. And I believe that, knock on wood, we’ll soon hear good news about the possibility of continuing along this path.
In that vein, he hinted at what the third-season plot could be: “Fans of the novels know how great Savage Son is. It is the most essential and compact among his books and is a genuine adrenaline shock. So Savage Son for the third season is right there waiting for us. Jack has also written a very strong book set in Vietnam and focused on James Reece’s father, which I think is part of the mythology of the second season. In the first two books, Jack inserts flashbacks to James’s time with his father, Tom Reece. Let’s say we’re concentrating on this aspect.”
The narrative universe of Terminal List has already spawned a spin-off titled The Terminal List: Black Wolf, but, according to the showrunner, it could foster the creation of other spin-offs: “And then we have a multitude of characters that fans are growing so attached to that we start thinking: ‘What if we do a spin-off about this or that?’ So all of these ideas are on the table.” At the moment it is not clear what will happen to Terminal List after the release of the second season on Prime Video, but the writers already have very clear ideas on the matter.
