Do you know Tommy Taffy? Better known as The Third Parent, the third parent, is one of the most terrifying creatures of contemporary creepypasta: at first glance a normal man who arrives at a family with the task of “educating” and disciplining them, effectively torturing its members. From a series of stories written online by Elias Witherow, The Third Parent has now become a horror film directed by David Michaels, with Crispin Glover in the monster’s role, Rob Lowe and Roselyn Sanchez. A teaser trailer for the movie has just been released, which we find truly striking, and which we now present to you.
The Third Parent: the plot of a spine-tingling horror
As seen in the first trailer, Tommy Taffy is a curse that is handed down through the ages, striking families seemingly at random. There is even an Italian family shown in the opening sequence, stretching to today, in Atlanta. The story unfolds on the day of the Fourth of July celebration when this unsettling figure (a demon, of course) masked as a human being, arrives at the doorstep of a household, insinuating itself to impose its terrible laws. Glover, who has been tasked with bringing the monster to life, stated: “I deliberately did not read the online stories that inspired it, because I know that for me it’s better not to think about too many things. In this situation I understood that it was better to stay faithful to the screenplay, but I also realized that there were many interesting aspects in the writing and I understood the reason for its online popularity.” Glover then added that in the end the prosthetic makeup created for the character was not used and that it did not suit him, so we are really curious to learn more about the look he will have. The Third Parent will be released in 2027 but our curiosity about it is now keen.
