The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 – Daryl and Carol’s Final Journey, New Trailer Foreshadows a Difficult Goodbye

The journey of Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier is about to reach its final chapter. And if there is one thing The Walking Dead has taught its fans over the years, it is that surviving does not necessarily mean being able to return to the people you love. The new trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon 4, which you can see below, previews a series-ending finale loaded with tension and moments that will tug at the hearts of fans by bringing back to the center the bond between two of the universe’s most beloved characters created by Robert Kirkman. The date is set in the United States for February 2027 (in Italy airing later on Sky and streaming on NOW), when the last adventure of Daryl and Carol will begin.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon 4, the trailer foreshadows the final journey of Daryl and Carol

On the occasion of the New York Comic Con, AMC revealed new images from the fourth and final season of the spin-off, confirming when Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will return to screens. A journey that, after having taken them from France to Spain, will once again place them before the question that has accompanied Daryl since the beginning of the series: will he finally be able to return home? The new trailer for the fourth and final season looks to the past to prepare the audience for the farewell. The images retrace the origins of the bond between Daryl and Carol, a relationship built over the years through losses, dangers and a mutual trust that the apocalypse has never managed to break. From that shared past, the clip then shifts toward a future still uncertain, foreshadowing a season in which the two protagonists will have to face their toughest challenge.

Where we left off and what lies ahead: The previews

The third season had ended with the destruction of the boat that would have allowed them to cross the ocean and return to the United States. The plan collapsed during the confrontation, leaving Daryl and Carol stranded in Spain with no obvious way to reach their friends. The next season was conceived as the final chapter of Daryl Dixon’s television adventure. The objective will be to bring to a conclusion the journey that began in France and unfolded through new territories and new threats, without losing sight of what has always made the series special—the human relationships in a world that seems to have doomed them to disappear.

We will resume directly from the events of the previous finale. Daryl and Carol will find themselves having to cross a devastated Spain, without certainties and with few chances to reach America, trying not to lose hope as the future becomes ever more uncertain. What will keep them upright will be hope and their bond. The trailer promises an adventure full of action, but also an emotionally rich ending, in which the search for a way out will intertwine with something deeper: understanding what it really means to feel at home.

The cast and the new entry Jimmy Smits: who is the mysterious Alejandro Perkins?

Among the surprises of the final season is the arrival of Jimmy Smits, an actor known to audiences for series such as NYPD Blue and The West Wing. Smits will portray Captain Alejandro Perkins, a former United States Navy officer and a doctor who has managed to find his own way to survive in the world dominated by the undead. The character could represent a decisive encounter for Daryl and Carol, especially in a situation where every potential ally can make a difference. Alongside Reedus, McBride and Smits will also return Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbués. At the helm of the series will again be David Zabel, in the role of showrunner and executive producer, together with Scott M. Gimple and the other producers of the franchise.
