Shane Gillis will return to Netflix with a fourth season of Tires. After the solid numbers posted by the batch of episodes released last month, the streaming service promptly renewed the workplace comedy created by the stand-up comedian alongside Steve Gerben and John McKeever.
Tires: The Workplace Comedy in Netflix’s Top 10
Set in a Pennsylvania auto shop, Tires follows Will (Gerben), an anxious, insecure manager who isn’t particularly cut out for the role he holds. After inheriting the responsibility of Valley Forge Automotive, the family shop, Will desperately tries to reboot the business, raise profits, and improve his rapport with customers. Complicating matters further is his cousin Shane (Gillis), who works at the shop. Shane is crude, irresponsible, provocative, and seemingly unable to take anything seriously. Instead of helping, he spends most of his time ridiculing Will, sabotaging his initiatives, or dragging him and the other employees into absurd situations.
The third season of the series, released on August 13, increased its views by over 16% in a single week, reaching the fifth position in Netflix’s Top 10 English-language series watched last week — its best performance to date. It is also estimated that since its debut, Tires has accumulated 45 million views, with a year-over-year growth trajectory.
“Tires continues to deliver uncompromising humor and the authentic perspective that fans of Shane, John, and Steve know and love, and the fact that season three reached its best-ever Top 10 placement shows that this fandom keeps growing,” said Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s Vice President of Comedy for the United States. “We love working with this team and can’t wait to see what the Valley Forge staff will bring in season 4.”
