Tom Cruise Goes Wild with Jimmy Fallon to Promote Digger: Hilarious Challenge Video

Tom Cruise is about to return to the cinema on October first with Digger, the eagerly awaited new film from Alejandro González Iñárritu, which arrives four years after Bardo. And, if appearances are anything to go by, at least from what we have seen so far, his role will be one of those memorable ones, like in Eyes Wide Shut and Magnolia, reminding us that he is not merely an ultra-daring stuntman, but also a great actor when guided by the right directors. On a promotional tour appearance on Jimmy Fallon‘s show, Cruise engaged in a very entertaining game: a challenge with the host in which he had to pluck, from a basket hanging by the feet, the golden shovel that symbolizes the film among the many objects filling it (will it be a coincidence that it recalls the object sold by Dr. Jacoby in Twin Peaks?). At the end of the challenge, which he obviously won, he remained upside down for a period of time that, for anyone else, would have caused an excessive rush of blood to the brain and a number of inconveniences, but which he, at his now 64 years, gracefully endured as if nothing were happening, until Fallon himself pulled him down. Seated more comfortably beside him in a chair, Cruise then sang the praises of Taylor Swift, recounting that during the Chiefs’ football game she explained to him what was going on, since he was a bit rusty on the subject while she, after marrying Travis Kelce, has become a great expert of the game.
