It’s a wonderful time for Agatha Christie fans. The upcoming year will feature Hercule, a new series focusing on the famous detective Hercule Poirot, portrayed in a younger incarnation by Edward Bluemel (A Discovery of Witches, My Lady Jane). However, it will arrive as early as next month, at least in the United Kingdom, Tommy & Tuppence, centered on the eponymous duo of amateur investigators who appear in several novels by the queen of crime. BritBox has released the official trailer.
Tommy & Tuppence: The Plot and Cast of the TV Series
Created by Phoebe Eclair-Powell (The Road Trip), Tommy & Tuppence brings a contemporary slant to the stories Christie told in her books. In today’s London, the six episodes of the series follow Josh Dylan (The Buccaneers) and Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor) in the roles of Tommy and Tuppence, a couple of investigators who fall in love, part ways, and get back together while solving gripping and entertaining mysteries.
She is an exuberant and determined actress. He is a methodical and charming crime writer who has lost the spark for his own work. When Tuppence suddenly re-enters Tommy’s life, the old passion seems to rekindle. Completing the trio is Aunt Ada, portrayed by Oscar-nominated Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter, The Crown), a former private detective, brilliant and sharp, tied to Tommy.
The rest of the cast includes Nicholas Richardson (Wu-Tang: An American Saga), Charlie Condou (Doctor Who), Callie Cooke (F1) and Chizzy Akudolu (Criminal Record).
