The fourth season of Tracker has long since confirmed Jensen Ackles’ return, and only recently did it announce the arrival of a new face to the cast—a name that fans of TV series might recognize at first glance with a hint: what if we told you this newcomer hails from The Vampire Diaries?
Tracker 4, Michael Malarkey Joins the Cast: His Character Is Linked to Reenie
According to reports, the fourth season of Tracker will welcome another intriguing character who will play a pivotal role in the narrative, being connected to Fiona Rene’s character. As TV Insider notes, the new episodes will also introduce Michael Malarkey as Adam, a figure who has a past with Reenie.
Fans of The Vampire Diaries won’t need long to associate Michael Malarkey with the character Enzo St. John, who back in the day was introduced as a kind of bad boy and could bring back those vibes in Tracker as well. His character has been described as “disarmingly handsome, intelligent and sophisticated, but with a touch of rebellion.” In the Tracker universe, Adam works as a private investigator for several top-tier law firms and comes across Reenie, an old friend whom he hadn’t seen in years. The two exchange lines that radiate familiarity, which in turn spurs questions about their shared past, what they may have in common, and the effects this could have on the futures of both characters. While it hasn’t been confirmed at this point whether he might be a romantic interest for Reenie, fans can still hope.
Meanwhile we also know that Cassady McClincy Zhang has been promoted to a series regular for the fourth season and will reprise her role as Mel, Reenie’s assistant. Regarding the future of this character in the forthcoming episodes, star Justin Hartley told TV Insider: “I think she’s looking for a new office. I imagine she wants a new office on the other side of the city or something like that, and she’s having trouble finding it. [Additionally] we’re delving a bit into her private life. I also hope a bit more. I’d like to learn more about her past and things like that. So I hope the writers also explore this aspect a little.” In light of the new cast addition, it seems that this is precisely the direction things will take.
