A night of violence can forever alter a family’s life. This is where The Good Daughter begins, Peacock’s new thriller series adapted from Karin Slaughter’s 2017 novel, published in Italy under the title The Model Daughter. At the heart of the story are Charlotte and Samantha Quinn (played by Meghann Fahy and ), two sisters forced to face a past that, after almost thirty years, has not stopped tormenting them. In the United States the series will debut on the Peacock streaming service on November 12, 2026, while in Italy there is not yet a release date (but it could arrive soon on Sky and NOW). The Plot of The Good Daughter
The story unfolds from an event that happened 28 years earlier. Charlotte and Samantha have spent a large portion of their lives trying to rebuild after that terrible night, when masked and armed men invaded their lives and their home was set ablaze. In the present, the two sisters reconnect after more than ten years apart. Charlotte, now a lawyer like her father, is the first witness to a new assault that shakes the small town of Pikeville. What seems to be a new criminal case quickly grows into something far more personal. As the investigation progresses, Charlotte is forced to confront her own demons and a series of revelations capable of challenging everything she and Samantha believed they knew about their past. The question that accompanies the tale is as simple as it is unsettling: what price did the two sisters pay to try to be the “model daughter”?
The Cast: Not Just Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy
Apart from Byrne and Fahy, the cast includes Olivia Williams in the role of Harriet “Gamma” Quinn, the mother of the two protagonists, Michael Dorman in the part of Ben, Drew Cheek in the role of young Charlotte and Audrey Grace Marshall as the young Sam. Completing the cast are Brendan Gleeson, Harper Steele, Paula Malcomson and Jake McDorman, respectively in the roles of Rusty, Lenore, Judith and Mason «Huck».
Significantly, Karin Slaughter’s involvement is also noteworthy: the author of the novel has written and produced as an executive producer all the episodes of the series, contributing directly to the television adaptation of her story.
