The success of Reacher shows no sign of slowing down. The fourth season of the action series starring Alan Ritchson has just wrapped, but Prime Video has already chosen to look much further ahead, announcing a renewal for a sixth season. The news comes while production on the fifth season, confirmed last May, is still underway. It’s a truly record-breaking bit of timing, given that this marks the second renewal in the same year for a series that has now solidified itself among the platform’s top-tier titles.
Prime Video doesn’t wait: Reacher will also have a Season 6
The fourth season, made up of eight episodes, premiered on August 12, 2026, and concluded on September 16. According to data released by Prime Video, in the first 28 days after its debut it drew 66 million viewers worldwide, placing it among the five most-watched seasons in the history of Prime Video’s original series. Overall, Reacher has reached 200 million viewers around the world since the series first premiered in 2022.
Teasers for the Fifth and Sixth Seasons
The renewal for the sixth season arrives while work on the fifth is not yet finished. Episodes of the upcoming season are currently in production in Toronto and will be based on the novel Make Me, the twentieth book in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher literary saga. The fourth season, by contrast, adapted Gone Tomorrow, a novel in which Reacher finds himself drawn into an increasingly dangerous situation after a chance encounter with a person in distress on the subway. But, as a reminder, the franchise’s expansion isn’t limited to new seasons of the main series, since Prime Video has recently added Neagley, a spin-off starring Maria Sten, focused on a character already known to Reacher fans.
Details of the plot for the sixth season remain unknown, nor has it been indicated which Lee Child novel will be used as the source material. The renewal, however, hints that Prime Video intends to continue firmly betting on the character portrayed by Ritchson.
