The 83rd Venice International Film Festival will inaugurate Casa Cinema Giovani – The Place of Opportunities, an inclusive, open, free and fully operational space for the entire Festival, entirely dedicated to students and young cinema enthusiasts. The idea and organization were conceived by ANEC – National Association of Cinema Exhibitors and ACEC – Catholic Association of Cinema Exhibitors, in collaboration with the Ministry for Sport and Youth. The doors of the House will open on September 3 at 10:00 a.m. with the ribbon-cutting by the Undersecretary for Culture Lucia Borgonzoni. Attending the event will be representatives of the institutional and associative bodies promoting the space, including the Head of the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service Giuseppe Pierro and the presidents of ANEC, ACEC and the Italian Academy of Cinema – David di Donatello Awards.
Casa Cinema Giovani will host a series of meetings, panels, events and presentations:
- On September 4 the day will be dedicated to the National Plan for Cinema and Images for the School, promoted by MIC and MIM to disseminate cinematic and audiovisual language in all Italian schools. An event during which some of the projects realized thanks to the CIPS calls will be discussed.
- On September 7 and 8 the House will host panels and training workshops promoted by the national beneficiaries of the CIPS Calls: Cineteca di Bologna, Cineteca di Milano, Fondazione Sistema Toscana, Cinemovel (September 5), Zalab and Agis/Anec Lombarda.
- On September 9, at the meeting Young People, Cinema and Solidarity the more than 40 years of UNICEF Cinema for UNICEF in a changing world will be discussed; young students will be able to dialogue with UNICEF Italy’s Spokesperson, Andrea Iacomini.
In programma anche gli eventi promossi da ACEC:

- on the 10th the meeting A Dialogue Between Young People and Signis and Interfilm Juries on cinema as a space of values, encounter, spirituality, peace and dialogue among cultures.
From the collaboration between Casa Cinema Giovani and Venice Days come two special appointments:
- The world premiere of Sail, scheduled for September 11 at 10:00 in Sala Laguna. Directed by Evan Hayes and Frank Marshall, the documentary is devoted to the protagonists and the culture of the America’s Cup, the oldest international sporting trophy.
- On September 3 at 3:00 p.m., in the Confronti section, Waiting for Ken Loach, a documentary by Simone Amendola born from the experience developed within the National Plan for Cinema and Images for the School. The film tells the story of the Piccolo Cinema Ken Loach in Mesagne (Brindisi), the only cinema in Italy entirely run by girls and boys aged 11 to 18.
The Casa will also host
- The Kineo 2026 Award – special 25 years since its founding
