VisionQuest will complete the Wanda Trilogy after WandaVision and Agatha All Along, but Paul Bettany has hinted that it will certainly not be the final step for his character in the MCU. Born as a direct spin-off of WandaVision, VisionQuest will resume what happened to Vision, who now lives in hiding while trying to understand who he is by communicating with other AI personalities in his head. Conceived by Terry Matalas, VisionQuest is arriving in October on Disney+, but according to the lead star, it will not mark the end for his character. What will become of Vision in the MCU?
VisionQuest, Paul Bettany confirms that it will not be the end for Vision: where will we see him again in the MCU?
Although VisionQuest will close the narrative arc started with WandaVision, it will not spell the end for Vision, a character introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron who has proven his worth over time, juggling both big and small screens. Wanda Maximoff’s romantic interest, Vision has become the father of Billy and Tommy, characters introduced in WandaVision and, it seems, not entirely disappear, as initially hinted in Agatha All Along and now in VisionQuest.
But what will become of Vision after his miniseries? According to Paul Bettany, as he told CinemaBlend, VisionQuest lays the groundwork for an intriguing future development of his character: “We start the series where we left off, namely with White Vision, repurposed as a weapon. I believe that by the end of the story he has clearly freed himself from the constraints of those who transformed him, and that he is now pursuing autonomy. At the end of the series, I think you’ll see that this serves as a truly exciting launching pad for what Vision could do in the future.”
After what happened in WandaVision, in this narrative arc Vision will attempt to reclaim his memories and his humanity, with Ultron providing support in the endeavor in the human form portrayed by James Spader. As we already know, Vision is expected to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, as Bettany noted, an ensemble film due in theaters in December 2027, while it remains unclear what his fate will be in Avengers: Doomsday, due in December 2026. It is possible that VisionQuest will establish a direct link to Doomsday, hinting at the path his future in the MCU might take.
