Vision has returned, but he is no longer the same as we knew him. After death, rebuilding, memory loss, and the mysterious departure from Westview, the character portrayed by Paul Bettany is gearing up to face a new phase of his existence. The Italian official trailer for VisionQuest, the new series arriving on October 14, 2026 on Disney+, presents a protagonist in search of his identity, forced to reckon with his past and with some of the artificial intelligences that have marked his story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Watch it below.
VisionQuest: The official trailer shows Vision’s new life
After being rebooted and escaping those who sought to turn him into a weapon, Vision lives in hiding. Far from the Avengers and everything his previous existence stood for, he seeks a new meaning to his life. The problem is that Vision is not merely an artificial being in search of a new identity. Inside him reside traces of different intelligences and personalities that have contributed to his story. The series thus places J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H. and Ultron at the forefront, turning the confrontation with artificial intelligences into one of the central elements of the narrative. The situation escalates when a bounty on Vision’s head forces him to come out of hiding and flee. By his side stands Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who could be far more important than he seems.
Vision’s story: from J.A.R.I.S. to VisionQuest
Vision’s journey began long before his physical birth: Paul Bettany has voiced J.A.R.V.I.S. since the very first Iron Man, before portraying Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. After his death at Thanos’s hands in Avengers: Infinity War, the character returned in WandaVision, where the real Vision was rebuilt in a completely white version and regained his memories before departing. This is where VisionQuest picks up again, with the return of Ultron, again portrayed by James Spader, and the arrival of Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who could be the reincarnation of Tommy Maximoff. Playing an adult Tommy is Ruaridh Mollica, whose role could prove crucial in unveiling the mystery tying the boy to Vision’s past. The new Marvel series will thus conclude the trilogy that began in 2021 with WandaVision and continued in 2024 with Agatha All Along.
