When a multimillion-dollar marriage ends, the dissolution can unleash a media and legal earthquake. This is the case in War – The Divorce of the Century, the new Sky Original legal drama that is poised to become one of the season’s most explosive titles. The series will arrive starting from November 27, exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW. Watch below the official Italian trailer.
The plot of War – The Divorce of the Century
Dominic West and Sienna Miller portray, respectively, a tech industry magnate named Morgan Henderson and his ex-wife Carla Duval. The collapse of their relationship triggers a chain reaction that goes beyond shattering domestic harmony and ends up rattling the upper echelons of finance and the courtrooms of London. The legal dispute pits two of the capital’s most influential and prestigious law firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, ready to pull out all the stops to prevail. In this ruthless landscape, every secret can become a weapon, and winning is the only admissible objective.
A stellar cast and familiar faces of the series
The series boasts a top-tier ensemble both in front of and behind the camera. Created by George Kay, already the mind behind acclaimed hits such as Lupin and Hijack, and directed by Ben Taylor (Sex Education), War blends thriller conventions with a taut pace. Alongside the two leads, audiences will see Archie Renaux in the role of the young and ambitious lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, swept into a world of compromises and power struggles. The rich cast of the first season also includes Phoebe Fox and James McArdle for the Taylor & Byrne firm, together with Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens aligned with the rivals Cathcarts, plus a long list of familiar faces including Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, and Archie Panjabi.
The second season already in the works
The scope of the project is ambitious, to the extent that Sky and the production companies New Pictures and Observatory Pictures have already locked in the series’ future. War – The Divorce of the Century is conceived as an anthology of major legal battles and is already in production for a second season. The next chapter will shift the spotlight to a explosive defamation case and will welcome in the new episodes major international stars such as Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood.
