Impossible to forget her: Izzie Stevens. Empathetic, sensitive, one of the undisputed stars from the very early seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. But years after the TV show’s success, what is actress Katherine Heigl up to today?
What Izzie Stevens from Grey’s Anatomy Is Doing Today
Katherine Heigl, aka Izzie Stevens, born in 1978, hails from Washington, but during childhood she moved frequently, passing from Virginia, to Denver, and eventually settling in New Canaan, Connecticut. Later she relocated first to Los Angeles and then to Malibu, where she graduated and focused on her acting career.
She actually began acting as a child, starting with a few commercials and then taking part in films, initially for the cinema, such as Hot Summer Nights and Little, Big Aaron. From 1999 to 2002 she appeared in the television series Roswell, and in 2005 she joined the cast of the famous medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, portraying the character Isobel Stevens through 2010.
Soon after, in the early 2000s, she became the lead in several romantic comedies and feature films, including Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, Three All of a Sudden, New Year’s Eve, The Big Wedding. From 2014 to 2015 she starred in State of Affairs, in 2017 in Doubt, from 2017 to 2019 in Suits, and from 2021 to 2023 in the series The Summer We Learned to Fly.
Currently she works mainly as an entrepreneur, dedicating herself to her brand of healthy and nourishing dog food, Badlands Ranch, to her foundation, and to film production. In recent years the actress has drastically reduced her Hollywood commitments to devote herself to her family (she is married to singer Josh Kelley with whom she has three children); in several recent interviews, she stated she has no regrets about leaving Los Angeles.
