When Cinema and Rap Meet: The Rider Trailer

It will serve as the closing film for the 41st International Critics’ Week – an independent and parallel section organized by the National Union of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI) within the Venice Film Festival – and it will arrive in Italian theaters starting October 8, distributed by I Wonder Pictures. We are talking about Rider, the movie born from the meeting of two creative worlds: cinema and contemporary music. The project was written and directed collaboratively by Roan Johnson, known for films such as I Primi della Lista, Piuma, and Fino a qui tutto bene, and Dade, longtime bassist for Linea 77 and among the most influential producers in the Italian contemporary music scene, here making his directorial debut but already winner of the 2025 David di Donatello for the film score of Gloria!, composed and produced with Margherita Vicario. The film follows the story of Samuele, nicknamed Sami, a young courier who rides across Milan every day on his bike to deliver orders from one part of the city to the other. On New Year’s Eve, as Milan bursts with lights and everyone celebrates, Sami delivers a massive sushi order to a luxurious villa on the northern outskirts. Invited to stay for the party, he meets Nia, with whom a powerful connection immediately forms. But as that new love takes shape, a spontaneous decision will forever alter the course of his life, forcing him to decide whether to run away or to confront fully the consequences of his actions.

Starring are Lorenzo Aloi (Prima di noi, La Tana, Hype) and the actress and singer-songwriter Kaze (Call My Agent Italia), joined by Kyshan Wilson (Mare Fuori) and a host of artists from the Italian contemporary music scene such as Johnny Marsiglia, Ensi, Axos, Rosa Chemical and Levante, with the participation of Margherita Vicario, and featuring Claudio Santamaria.

Here are the trailer and the official posters for Rider.
