The second season of The Gentlemen, available on Netflix, takes Eddie Horniman much farther away from the English countryside and brings him right to the shores of the Lago Maggiore, in Italy. It is here that the three Italian characters appearing in the new episodes enter the scene, portrayed by Sergio Castellitto (the mob boss Marco Moretti), Benedetta Porcaroli (the Contessa Isabella Savanza of Parma) and Michele Morrone (the unpredictable “fixer” Cico Maldini). Eddie’s journey (Theo James) is not a simple luxury vacation, but an integral part of the second-season plot that threads together his business deals and matters of the heart with Italy. Lake Maggiore Takes Center Stage in The Gentlemen 2: All Filming Locations
In the new episodes, the luxury and natural beauty of Lake Maggiore fuse with the criminal elements that typify the series. We find ourselves precisely in Verbania and its surroundings, in Piedmont. Waterfront villas, speedboats, and elegant hotels set the scene for negotiations and power dynamics, but also for the lavish wedding between Bella and Eddie that is central to the sixth episode. The production shot in Piedmont between June and July 2025, with sets in Verbania, Pallanza, Intra and Stresa, concentrating the Italian shoot in a span of just two weeks.
Villa Rusconi-Clerici, Bella’s Residence
Among the most important locations in The Gentlemen 2 is Villa Rusconi-Clerici, in Verbania, on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore. In the series the splendid residence becomes Bella’s palace, the character played by Benedetta Porcaroli. The villa, dating from the late nineteenth century, is surrounded by English-style gardens and offers a spectacular view of Lake Maggiore and its islands. The location is used for some of the season’s most scenographic sequences, including those related to arrivals by Riva motorboats. For the shoots the production even built a temporary pier in front of the villa.
Grand Hotel Majestic, the Great Hotel on Lake Maggiore
In Pallanza lies the Grand Hotel Majestic, another of the main locations for the second season. The hotel brings to the screen the elegance of Italian tradition and is used for some of the most sumptuous scenes of the Lake Maggiore sojourn. The building, characterized by Belle Époque interiors and its directly water-facing location, hosts some sequences tied to a grand wedding. It also served as a base for production during shoots in the area.
San Leonardo Church, Bella and Eddie’s Wedding
The San Leonardo Church, in Pallanza, was chosen for the wedding scenes of Bella and Eddie, providing the second season with one of its most romantic settings. To transform the venue into the frame required by the story, the production worked on the arrangement with flowers and olive trees, creating a Mediterranean atmosphere in line with the new Italian setting.
Porto comunale San Dazio, the Motorboat Arrivals
In Pallanza the series also used the San Dazio Municipal Port, with the distinctive column featuring the statue of San Dazio. The location appears mainly in the motorboat-arrival sequences.
Piazza Garibaldi, Pallanza
For some city-set scenes the production chose Piazza Garibaldi in the center of Pallanza, used for sequences set between the square and a café where Eddie and Bella sit down.
The Mountain Road Up to Monte Mottarone
To complete the panorama of Italian locations, the crew then moves to the mountains. They used the winding road climbing up to Monte Mottarone from Stresa and Gignese. There, Eddie speeds along Bella’s vintage Ferrari, surrounded by a postcard-perfect panorama.
