Justin Hartley, alias Colter Shaw, born in 1977, hails from Knoxville, Illinois and grew up in Orland Park. After finishing high school, he studies first at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale and then at the University of Illinois, where he earns degrees in history and theater.
He made his small-screen debut in 2002 with the soap Passions, where he stayed until 2006. In the same year, he portrayed Aquaman, a spin-off of Smallville (which was later canceled), and then Green Arrow in Smallville. In the years that followed, he appeared in several TV series, including Gemini Division, Revenge, and Mistresses, and from 2014 to 2016 in the soap The Young and the Restless.
From 2016 to 2022, he was one of the leads in the acclaimed TV series This Is Us, and since 2024 he has been starring in Tracker, which is currently in its fourth season and remains among the most beloved and watched American TV series of all time, where the actor also serves as an executive producer.
