Over seven seasons, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D introduced several interesting characters that, however, never truly had a real chance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by interacting with other stories. One of the few who did make it was Phil Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, head of S.H.I.E.L.D. and featured in several MCU projects. Many stars, however, were left out and would have liked to contribute differently to the superhero universe, including Chloe Bennet who would have liked to offer Daisy Johnson a different opportunity.

In an interview with Elle, Chloe Bennet recalled the brave Daisy Johnson, also known as Quake, a character among the most appreciated in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But would she be interested today in revisiting that character? The actress did not hesitate for a moment: “Absolutely. I am obsessed with Daisy. I feel like I am her. I would protect her with all my might. I’m still a bit upset because they don’t fully recognize this aspect as canonical: true fans will understand. We were the first MCU TV series and we shot over 130 one-hour episodes. We spent a lot of time in people’s homes and I’ve spent most of my life portraying this character, this young woman who discovers her powers. There is a lot of symbolism in this, especially looking back now. I would love to portray her with the growth I have had since I took a break from that role.”
The early seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. featured several connections to some MCU films, and the second season also played a part in the initial plot with Loki’s scepter in Avengers: Age of Ultron. To date, it isn’t clear how, when, or if these characters will appear in the MCU, given that Avengers: Secret Wars aims to relaunch this superhero universe.
As for the few exceptions, Phil Coulson, for instance, was introduced to cinema and appeared in films such as Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers before being resurrected in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and becoming its leader. Another interesting element first mentioned is the Darkhold, the book of enchantments that guided Wanda’s actions in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As of today, however, key characters like Quake, Melinda May, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons have never been involved in the MCU.
